The wait is finally over. The official trailer of Bhooth Bangla dropped today, and it’s everything fans of Priyadarshan’s classic horror-comedies have been waiting for. The nearly 3-minute trailer brings back nostalgia, laughs, scares — and one very intriguing wildcard in the form of Tabu.
Akshay Kumar Is Back in His Zone
The trailer makes its intentions crystal clear from the word go — the focus is squarely on the humour quotient, and Akshay Kumar delivers in full form. There’s no one quite like him when it comes to comedy, and he proves it all over again.
Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Akshay wrote: “Welcome to Bhooth Bangla. Yahan na toh log normal hain… Aur upar se Bangla bhi paranormal hai. Enter at your own risk.”
The story follows a protagonist who arrives at a grand mansion to arrange the marriage of a close one — but things quickly take a dark turn as eerie incidents begin to unfold. It is soon revealed that no wedding can take place in the mansion, as a mysterious entity named Vadhusur is destined to disrupt everything.
The Comedy OGs Are All Here
Akshay is backed by a stellar ensemble comprising Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, and the late Asrani — and seeing all of them together in a Priyadarshan film is already sending fans into waves of nostalgia. The trailer also cleverly references Hungama and Bhagam Bhag, weaving in iconic dialogues from Priyadarshan’s earlier comedies that are sure to get a massive reaction in theatres. The makers have also recreated a fan-favourite scene from one of Akshay’s classic films, with a similar nostalgic nod given to Rajpal Yadav as well.
Tabu Steals the Show in Just Seconds
The real surprise of the trailer, however, is Tabu. The makers have smartly kept her character completely under wraps, leaving audiences guessing about the twist she brings to the film. Her brief appearance draws comparisons to Bhool Bhulaiyaa, particularly in a striking dance sequence that has already set social media talking.
A Tribute to the Late Asrani
It is also deeply moving to see Asrani appear in what is his final film trailer — a limited yet memorable presence that fans will deeply cherish.

Bhooth Bangla reunites Akshay Kumar with director Priyadarshan after 14 years, marking Priyadarshan’s return to Hindi horror-comedy after Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) — also headlined by Akshay. The film is produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R. Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms and Cape of Good Films, with music by Pritam.
The full cast includes Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jisshu Sengupta, Manoj Joshi, Mithila Palkar, and Asrani.
Bhooth Bangla will have paid previews from April 16 onwards, with a full theatrical release on April 17, 2026.
