Salman Khan’s 11-video YouTube channel is for children

Salman Khan says his Being Salman Khan YouTube channel, now 11 videos in, is made for children—not adult fans. Inside the kid-first celebrity format.

Salman Khan's 11-video YouTube channel is for kids

Salman Khan has a new digital home, and he is being unusually clear about who it is for. The actor’s YouTube channel, Being Salman Khan, is not aimed at his adult fans. In a late-night Instagram post on October 10, he explained that the channel is built for children, with fun, family, love and education at its centre.

What Being Salman Khan actually offers

Launched on September 22, the channel has uploaded 11 videos so far. Instead of the usual celebrity vlogs and behind-the-scenes clips, Salman plays two versions of himself: an experienced acting and personality coach, and a student still learning the ropes.

Together, they work through acting, body language, dialogue delivery and the mannerisms that have defined Salman’s screen image for decades. It is a playful way of turning his familiar style into lessons for young viewers.

  • 11 videos are live on the channel so far.
  • Coach and student: Salman plays both roles in the format.
  • For children: education is framed as important as fun, love and family.

Why the clarification matters

Most Bollywood stars use YouTube for personal updates or film promotion. Salman is taking a different route, and he appears to know adult fans may be confused. “I understand that the content is not for you yet, but you also understand that it is for your little ones,” he wrote. That honesty sets expectations early and shows the channel is a deliberate product, not a side project.

It also makes sense in a crowded celebrity digital space. Adult fans already have his films, reality show and music. Children, however, are an underserved audience for a star of his scale. By making education part of the pitch, the channel gives parents a reason to press play. The name matters too: it borrows Salman’s off-screen identity rather than a film title, keeping the association warm and personal for young viewers.

Salman’s YouTube track record

This is not his first experiment on the platform. In 2020, he launched Salman Khan Films Music, which has grown to nearly three million subscribers. That channel features film songs and independent music, including tracks such as Pyaar Karona and Tere Bina released during the COVID-19 pandemic.

So while Being Salman Khan may look like a departure, Salman already knows how to build a YouTube audience. The difference is the target viewer: this time, it is the next generation.

What’s next for Salman

Away from YouTube, Salman is hosting Bigg Boss 20, his 15th season on the reality show. His next film, Maatrubhumi—previously titled Battle of Galwan—stars Chitrangda Singh and is directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Its release has been delayed, with no revised date announced yet.
