Akshara Haasan Shares Rare Childhood Pics With Kamal, Sarika

Akshara Haasan shares rare black-and-white childhood photographs with Kamal Haasan and Sarika, calling her film legacy her strength.

Akshara Haasan’s rare throwback is a love letter to legacy

Some Instagram throwbacks stop the scroll because the family album is also a piece of film history. Akshara Haasan did exactly that when she posted rare black-and-white childhood pictures with her parents, Kamal Haasan and Sarika, on Instagram.

A personal archive, shared with fans

The images show the couple holding Akshara when she was a young child, photographed by Shyam Tekwani. In her caption, Akshara thanked him for capturing the moments, tagged both parents, and wrote that the pictures remain one of the best gifts she has ever received.

Her note was short but loaded. “Grateful to be born to my parents,” she wrote, adding that she is proud of her legacy. The line that has stuck with fans: “Strength is a feeling and not just genes.”

Why a throwback matters here

Kamal Haasan and Sarika were one of Indian cinema’s most compelling real-life couples, and their daughter’s post lands differently than an average celebrity throwback. It bridges the public’s memory of two formidable performers with a private, tender image of them simply as parents. For Hindi film fans who have followed Kamal’s career from Tamil cinema to pan-Indian fame, this is a rare frame of the family outside the arc lights.

There is a fan-first reason to care beyond nostalgia: Akshara’s post quietly resets the conversation around star kids. Instead of defending her place, she is celebrating it, while continuing to choose projects such as Simulacra that feel far from the typical launch path. That mix of pride and independence is exactly what makes the post a small, warm story with a longer shelf life.

What’s on the Haasan slate

Akshara’s most recent release is the 2026 film Simulacra, directed by Pankaj Sawant and co-starring Satyajeet Dubey. The near-future story imagines a world in which neural brain chips let technology companies rewrite or erase human memories. Akshara plays Nivi, one of two pedestrians whose lives intersect in a transhumanist society, putting memory, technology and emotion under the microscope.

Kamal Haasan, meanwhile, keeps his slate packed. After Indian 2, he is expected back for Indian 3, and his production banner is backing Rajinikanth’s family action entertainer Dharmam with Raashii Khanna. The big reunion fans are waiting for is the tentatively titled RKxKH, which stars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan together under Nelson Dilipkumar’s direction, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.

  • Akshara Haasan: Simulacra explores memory, tech and human emotion.
  • Kamal Haasan: Indian 3 is next in the franchise.
  • Family connection: Kamal’s banner backs Rajinikanth’s Dharmam.
  • Big-ticket team-up: RKxKH brings Rajinikanth and Kamal back together.

For now, the photographs are a reminder that every film family starts somewhere quieter than the marquee.
