Tiger Shroff safe after firing: 15 police teams hunt attackers
Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt after shots were fired at his car in Mumbai's Juhu on Sunday. His driver was injured; 15 police teams hunt the attackers.

A Sunday football session in Mumbai turned into a security scare for Bollywood after shots were fired at Tiger Shroff’s car in Juhu. The actor was unhurt, but the incident has put celebrity safety back in the spotlight and triggered a fast political response.
Shots fired from inside a crowd
Mumbai Police say three to four rounds were fired at Tiger’s car as he was leaving a ground after football practice. A large crowd had gathered to see the actor, and police said the shots came from within that crowd. Tiger was not hit. His driver Firdosh sustained a gunshot wound to the left arm and was taken to Nanavati Hospital. Another person, identified as Mr Chauhan in an earlier police statement, was also undergoing treatment, and an autorickshaw driver was among those reported hurt.
The firing caused panic in the area. Police cordoned off the scene, and a forensic team collected evidence. The case falls under Juhu Police Station, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohit Garg said teams were deployed immediately.
Family, friends and politicians react
Close friends Disha Patani and Krishna Shroff were seen arriving at Tiger’s residence after the incident. Jackie Shroff later told media that his son was safe. The political response was swift. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the family and condemned the attack, saying there would be “no laxity” and that no gang would be spared. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to Tiger and assured him the accused would be traced at the earliest.
“We are all with you. We will trace and apprehend the accused at the earliest,” Fadnavis told the actor.
Mumbai Police have formed 15 teams to track down those responsible.
The unverified gang claim
After the shooting, a video circulated online in which a man claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility and described the attack as a warning to Tiger to stop working with Salman Khan. Police have not confirmed any gang involvement, and the claim remains unverified. The video has drawn attention because investigators have previously linked the Bishnoi gang to attacks involving people associated with Khan, tied to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The 2024 killing of former Maharashtra legislator Baba Siddique, claimed by the gang, had already raised concerns about organised crime and the film industry.
What film fans should know
For now, the motive and the identity of the attackers are still under investigation. Fans should treat the circulating video as unconfirmed until police speak officially. Here is where the case stands:
- Tiger Shroff was unharmed; his driver was shot in the left arm and hospitalised.
- Fifteen police teams are working the case, with forensic support.
- The shots came from within a crowd, not from a distance.
- A gang-link video is spreading, but police have not confirmed it.
For event teams, the detail that shots came from inside a crowd is a cue to reassess crowd distance and exit routes. The episode is a reminder that high-visibility public appearances carry risks that are not just about mobbing and selfies.
