Jailer 2 India net hits Rs 417.28 crore

Jailer 2 India net hits Rs 417.28 crore

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has passed another box-office checkpoint. On Day 14, the Nelson Dilipkumar-directed action sequel is reporting India net collections above Rs 417 crore, with domestic gross collection closing in on Rs 490 crore.

Day 14 early numbers

The latest live update puts the film’s India net collection at Rs 1.63 crore so far for Wednesday, drawn from 3,946 tracked shows. Tamil audiences are doing most of the heavy lifting.

  • Tamil: Rs 0.89 crore from 1,827 shows
  • Telugu: Rs 0.53 crore from 779 shows
  • Hindi: Rs 0.21 crore from 1,340 shows

That takes the reported India net total to Rs 417.28 crore, while domestic gross stands at Rs 487.83 crore. These are live figures, so the final Wednesday number may change once more shows are reported.

The week-by-week picture

The sequel opened with Rs 59.70 crore on day one and collected Rs 334.35 crore in its opening week. After the first-week rush, collections have eased on working days, but the Rs 24.15 crore on Day 10 and Rs 25.70 crore on Day 11 show that audiences are still returning in strong numbers.

That pattern is familiar for a big star vehicle: a splashy start, a midweek dip, then a fresh push when the next weekend arrives.

What the language split says

The Tamil version remains the primary engine, with Telugu giving solid support and the Hindi run adding a smaller but steady layer. That spread gives the film a wider base than a single-language release.

The sequel stars Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, with Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakraborty, S. J. Suryah and Yogi Babu in key roles. Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music.

The road to Rs 1,000 crore

The film’s worldwide gross was previously reported at Rs 744 crore. With India net now past Rs 417 crore and domestic gross nearing Rs 490 crore, the Rs 1,000 crore milestone is still a stretch but not out of the conversation. The next weekend will be decisive: if collections lift again, the path becomes clearer; if they continue to fade, the film will likely settle well short.
