Ramayana overseas pre-sales top India at ₹24.5 crore
Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana: Part One has collected ₹24.5 crore in overseas advance bookings, ahead of India's ₹15.56 crore, led by North America.

Ramayana: Part One has opened an unusual gap a week before its theatrical release: overseas fans are buying tickets faster than Indian audiences. The Nitesh Tiwari epic has collected $2.58 million (approximately ₹24.5 crore) in international advance bookings, according to trade tracker Sacnilk, while India’s gross advance bookings stand at ₹15.56 crore.
North America is leading the charge
The overseas momentum is not spread evenly. North America alone accounts for $1.91 million, nearly 74% of the international pre-sales total. The rest of the overseas board looks like this:
- North America: $1.91 million
- UK and Ireland: $268,800
- Australia and New Zealand: $248,300
- Germany: $86,400
- Other markets: $62,800
These are early demand signals, not a final verdict. Advance booking tells us which audiences are committing to a show before release; it can change quickly as cinemas add shows and seats. But with seven days to go, the diaspora lead is real.
India’s start: Hindi leads, Telugu starts modest
Back home, around 2.97 lakh tickets have been sold across 6,382 shows in 191 cities. The Hindi version dominates with ₹13.06 crore—roughly 84% of the domestic total. Kannada has contributed ₹2.04 crore, while Telugu is at ₹46.38 lakh at this early stage.
The city split shows demand spread across major metros rather than concentrated in one market. Delhi-NCR leads with ₹2.87 crore, followed by Bengaluru at ₹2.45 crore and Mumbai at ₹2.16 crore. Hyderabad and Pune are at ₹83.14 lakh and ₹64.03 lakh respectively.
Notably, India’s ₹15.56 crore includes blocked seats. Excluding those, the domestic collection is ₹12.77 crore—a reminder that headline pre-sales figures need context.
Why it matters for fans
Ramayana: Part One is the first half of a planned two-part adaptation of the Indian epic, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi is Sita, and Yash is Ravana. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman, with Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The film releases worldwide on November 5, with paid premieres on November 4.
For Hindi film fans, the overseas-first trend means the film is already a global event. For those planning to watch in theatres, the next week will show whether India’s booking pace picks up as more shows open. A slower start isn’t a verdict—it’s a countdown with seven days left.
