Chiranjeevi and Srikanth Odela’s ChiruOdela shelved: report
The Chiranjeevi-Srikanth Odela action drama is reportedly off the table, with no official word yet. Here's what the megastar has next.

A movie that was expected to send Chiranjeevi into the raw, intense action zone with director Srikanth Odela is now reportedly off the table. The tentatively titled ChiruOdela, which had Nani attached as presenter, has not received an official cancellation notice, but the trade chatter is pointing in one direction: the project is no longer moving forward as planned.
What the report says
According to a post from Let’s Cinema on X, the collaboration has been shelved. The makers have stayed silent so far, which leaves the film’s future uncertain. A project of this scale usually gets an official word quickly, and the quiet has only added to the speculation.
Nani had recently hinted that the film was not progressing at the pace the team initially expected. That detail matters because Nani was more than a name on the poster. As presenter, his involvement gave the project a credibility boost after the team’s last outing.
Why this pairing was a big deal
Srikanth Odela last directed Nani in The Paradise, an action drama about a community’s fight for identity and freedom. Despite the buzz, the film reportedly received mixed-to-negative reviews and underperformed at the box office. A Chiranjeevi-led raw action entertainer would have been a fast way to shift that conversation and give both the director and the star a fresh, high-voltage vehicle.
- The shelving is reported, not officially confirmed.
- Nani was attached as presenter and had flagged slow progress.
- The Paradise underperformed, raising stakes for the next project.
For fans, the immediate takeaway is that the project is not dead until the makers say so. But with no shoot schedule, no release window and no public update, it is fair to treat the shelving report as a serious sign that ChiruOdela will not arrive in its original form.
Chiranjeevi’s slate is still full
Fans do not have to look far for their next Chiranjeevi fix. The megastar is next expected in Kaaka, an action thriller directed by Bobby Kolli. The story is said to follow a family man leading an ordinary life with his daughter while hiding a mysterious side of his personality. Anaswara Rajan also stars, and the film is scheduled to release in theatres on January 13, 2027, during the Sankranti festive season.
Beyond that, Chiranjeevi has the socio-fantasy action film Vishwambhara in the pipeline, directed by Mallidi Vassishta. It features Trisha Krishnan, Ashika Ranganath and Kunal Kapoor among others. Netflix has also announced a talk show with Chiranjeevi as host, which should give fans a different side of the star.
