Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha celebrated Karwa Chauth mid-air at 35,000 feet, with Raghav helping her break the fast after spotting the moon.

Parineeti and Raghav celebrate Karwa Chauth at 35,000 feet

Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha found a way to mark Karwa Chauth while travelling. On Thursday, October 30, the actor shared a video on Instagram of the couple spotting the moon at 35,000 feet, after which Raghav helped her complete the ritual by offering her water and food.

The moment is a reminder that Indian festivals need not pause at the departure gate. For Bollywood fans, it also links two generations of the Chopra family: Parineeti’s mid-air celebration follows a similar story told by her cousin Priyanka Chopra.

Why the moon matters here

Karwa Chauth is observed by many married women in North India. The fast runs from sunrise to moonrise, and the moon sighting is the signal to break it. That is why a flight above the clouds can become an ideal setting: it removes the weather that often hides the moon at ground level.

Parineeti’s own words made the point simply.

“Karwa chauth is wherever we are. Even if it’s at 35000 feet!”

She wrote on Instagram, adding a note for Raghav: You make all my dreams come true Ragaji. The best man, the best human, the best boii.

The family link fans noticed

Long-time followers quickly connected the post to Parineeti’s cousin, Priyanka Chopra. On The Kapil Sharma Show in 2025, Priyanka told how Nick Jonas once flew her above the clouds to see the moon after a stadium show. The moon had stayed hidden and rain was threatening the evening, so the flight let her complete the ritual.

Parineeti’s celebration had its own details: a traditional suit, sindoor, and Raghav by her side for the fast-breaking moment.

Their relationship at a glance

  • Engaged on May 13, 2023, at Kapurthala House in New Delhi.
  • Married on September 24, 2023, at The Leela Palace, Udaipur.
  • Welcomed their son, Neer, on October 19, 2025.

How to keep the ritual if you fly

The mid-air moment is sweet, but it also carries a practical tip for travelling couples. A flight at the right time can give an unobstructed view of the moon.

  • Track the moonrise time before booking and before boarding.
  • Carry your thali essentials in cabin baggage, not checked bags.
  • Pick a window seat on the side where the moon is likely to appear.

Parineeti and Raghav showed that tradition is not tied to a place. When the moon is the moment, the sky can be the best seat in the house.
