Himesh Reshammiya readies 15-song global English album
Himesh Reshammiya has 15 English songs ready, written, sung and composed by him. He plans a grand global launch and says one track may fit Rihanna.

Himesh Reshammiya has been quietly building an international chapter. In a recent conversation with journalist Komal Nahta, the singer-composer said he has finished 15 English-language songs — all written, sung and composed by him — and is waiting for a clear window to take them global.
A planned global move, not a one-off feature
The album is not being positioned as a small cross-border experiment. Himesh said the material “absolutely do not sound wannabe” and promised a very large launch, with the first single to be unveiled globally in grand fashion. No release date has been shared yet; his current film and music commitments, he said, are the only thing holding back the rollout.
He tied the timing to a specific credibility marker: in 2025, Himesh appeared at #22 on Bloomberg’s list of the world’s most influential pop stars and was the only Indian artist on that list. He believes that recognition makes this the right moment to present an English album to a universal audience that may not know his Hindi film catalogue.
What the Aashiq Banaya Aapne reference tells us
Himesh reached back to his 2005 breakthrough Aashiq Banaya Aapne as the template for the surprise he wants to create. Before that track, he says, few could imagine how he would sound as a lead singer; the song changed that. He says the new English material carries the same romantic streak and the same potential to make listeners rethink him.
Here is what has been confirmed so far:
- The catalogue: 15 original English tracks, written, sung and composed by Himesh himself.
- The launch plan: an international album rollout, beginning with a grand global first single.
- The timing logic: current commitments come first, then the album, framed by his Bloomberg pop-star ranking.
- The dream collaborator: one of the songs, Himesh says, is “absolutely right for Rihanna.”
What comes next
For now, the Rihanna mention is a wish rather than a confirmed duet — but it reveals the ambition behind the project. Himesh wants this to be a proper international debut, not a cameo in someone else’s global song.
This is another format jump for an artist who began as a music director with Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya in 1998 and made his acting debut in 2007 with Aap Kaa Surroor. The throughline is the same: Himesh tends to enter new spaces with a full body of work ready and a big launch planned. Fans now have a simple thing to watch for — the announcement of the first English single.
