Himesh Reshammiya: My 13th Film Will Be a Blockbuster

Himesh Reshammiya is planning a new credit for his filmography: director. In a conversation with trade journalist Komal Nahta, the composer-singer-actor confirmed that a film carrying the line “Directed by Himesh Reshammiya” is on the cards, and he is already talking like a man with a release plan.

Scripts, scale and a very big musical promise

Asked whether audiences will see that credit, Reshammiya gave a short, unequivocal answer: “100% you’ll see that.” He traced the logic of the move: when he produced serials, people asked whether he would become a music director. Today, after years in music and films, he wants to try direction with a clear brief in mind.

That brief has three anchors.

Reshammiya’s larger goal is to become a superstar actor. He said he has acted in 12 films so far, and drew a comparison with Amitabh Bachchan, whose 13th film he described as a hit. “My thirteenth film would be a blockbuster,” he said. He added in Hindi: “Mujhe banna hi hai aur banoonga bhi,” framing the ambition as something that will happen, today or tomorrow.

That 12-to-13 jump gives audiences a clear marker to watch: his next acting credit, by his own standard, is the one that must land differently. It also turns a routine film announcement into a self-set challenge, the kind of line that will follow the project until its first box-office report arrives.
