Salman Khan House Firing Accused Denied Bail, Allowed Virtual Wedding

A special court denied temporary bail to Vickykumar Gupta in the 2024 Galaxy Apartment firing, but allowed him to attend his brother's Bihar wedding by video.

Salman Khan firing accused allowed to attend wedding virtually

A special court in Mumbai has refused temporary release to Vickykumar Gupta, one of the men accused of firing outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in April 2024, but it has allowed him to attend his brother’s wedding through a video link from jail.

Gupta had asked the court for custody parole on December 1 and 2, 2026, so he could attend the wedding in West Champaran, Bihar. Special MCOCA judge S Navander rejected the physical release, yet directed jail authorities to arrange virtual attendance.

What the court ordered

The video conference will go ahead only if technical feasibility and prison security requirements are met. The court said the arrangement must be supervised by jail authorities and follow the applicable jail rules and security protocols. It also made the boundaries clear: the order “shall not entail the applicant’s release from custody.” Gupta must provide an email ID to help set up the link.

  • Bail was sought for December 1 and 2, 2026, for a Bihar wedding.
  • The court denied physical release but approved video attendance from jail.
  • Gupta must provide an email ID, and the arrangement is subject to security.
  • The trial continues under MCOCA along with IPC charges.

Why this matters for fans

The ruling is a small but telling moment in a case Bollywood has been watching since April 14, 2024. Gupta and co-accused Sagar Pal are alleged to have fired outside Salman Khan’s home. They are among five accused facing trial for criminal conspiracy, attempt to murder and offences under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act. MCOCA is a stringent law, and the court’s cautious approach to letting an accused out physically tells you how seriously it is weighing security.

At the same time, the virtual arrangement shows courts are trying to respect personal occasions without loosening custody. That is a familiar, practical compromise in the Indian legal system as video-conferencing becomes more common.

The wider threat backdrop

The order arrives while Bollywood continues to deal with threats and extortion demands. IANS reported that actor Ayushmann Khurrana received a threatening audio clip from someone claiming to be part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and that cyber cell officials are tracing the number and location. The group has also claimed responsibility for the October 18 attack on Tiger Shroff. Anil Pandit, described as a representative of the group, posted a social media warning and released an audio clip aimed at Salman Khan, demanding an apology to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community.

What to watch next

The five accused in the Galaxy Apartment firing still face trial, so each custody decision will be watched. For Salman Khan fans, the security conversation remains as important as the star’s next release. The next test is whether the prison video link actually works on the wedding day, and how strictly the court supervises it.
