Tamizh Padam 3 Announced: Shiva Becomes Intergalactic Superstar

Director CS Amudhan has announced Tamizh Padam 3 with Mirchi Shiva returning, and a first-look poster teases an alien-sized leap for the spoof franchise.

Tamizh Padam 3: Shiva Is Intergalactic Superstar

Three may just be the number that sends the Tamizh Padam universe into orbit. On November 5, director CS Amudhan made the franchise’s third chapter official, and the first poster wastes no time promising a bigger playground: Mirchi Shiva stands in a sharp suit, staring at a spaceship-like object in the sky.

The announcement also comes with a title upgrade. Shiva, long introduced as the Agila Ulaga Superstar, is now being called the Intergalactic Superstar — a nudge that the new film plans to leave the usual Tamil-cinema orbit.

Amudhan kept the reveal tight: “Bigger. Better. Out of this world. WE ARE BACK!”

The franchise that made spoofing an event

For fans, Tamizh Padam is more than comedy; it is a pressure test of how well you know Tamil cinema. The 2010 original took aim at stock plots, hero-introduction routines and fight-scene logic, and the second film widened the net to real-world events, public figures and politics. Several of its scenes later became popular meme templates, which is its own kind of box-office afterlife.

That lineage matters because it raises the bar for the third film. The sci-fi tease suggests the script may now parody the industry’s growing fascination with spectacle, VFX-heavy worlds and pan-Indian blockbuster logic, though the team has not confirmed the plot or additional cast.

What we know so far

  • Director: CS Amudhan returns, fresh off Raththam starring Vijay Antony.
  • Lead: Mirchi Shiva is back in the title role, now billed as the Intergalactic Superstar.
  • Backing: AP International and YNOT Studios are producing, with S Sashikanth and Chakravarthy Ramachandra.
  • Status: First look is out; story, cast and crew details are still under wraps.

YNOT Studios has been with the franchise from the start, which should comfort fans worried about a tonal reset. With Shiva last seen in Sumo and Ram’s Paranthu Po, this brings him back to the role that made him a meme-icon before the word was overused.

Why the alien tease is a smart opening move

By going intergalactic, the team is borrowing the visual language of the very films it is likely to roast — sci-fi scale, suited heroes and universe-sized stakes. It also gives the marketing a clean, instantly shareable image. The real test is whether the writing can aim its satire at current Tamil cinema without repeating old jokes, especially now that audiences see spoof-like patterns in trailers and promotional material on their own.

For now, the announcement gives fans exactly what they were waiting for: proof that the third chapter is alive, and a poster that asks one question — which blockbuster tropes will Shiva dismantle next?
