After Rs 1,160 crore Jawan, SRK hints at Atlee reunion

Shah Rukh Khan is not done with the world of Jawan. Replying to director Atlee’s birthday message on X on Thursday, SRK said he misses the ‘madness’ of their sets and wants to ‘create some more soon.’

The reply came three days after Atlee’s November 2 birthday post for the superstar. It is not an official green light, but it is exactly the kind of warm, public exchange that makes fans start dreaming of a sequel.

Atlee set the emotional tone first

Atlee’s birthday note was more than a wish. He called SRK his ‘mentor,’ ‘guide’ and ‘biggest inspiration,’ and said the time spent with him taught him about cinema, life, people and staying humble. He also praised the song ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’ and said he could not wait to watch SRK on the big screen in King.

That affection matters because Jawan was not just another hit; it was the first time SRK and Atlee worked together, and the result changed both their careers.

The numbers behind the bond

During its theatrical run, Jawan collected over Rs 1,160 crore worldwide, according to Sacnilk. The 2023 action thriller also earned SRK his first National Film Award for Best Actor.

The film’s cast was stacked: Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover all played prominent roles. But the central pairing was always SRK and Atlee.

Why SRK’s reply matters now

Bollywood reunions are often teased quietly, but stars rarely say ‘let’s create some more’ on a public platform if they are not open to it. SRK’s message gives the idea of a second collaboration a visible stamp of intent, even if no script or title is announced.

For fans, that is enough. Jawan balanced high-voltage action with the emotional beats audiences love from SRK, and the prospect of another film carries enormous anticipation.

What is next for both

• Shah Rukh Khan: King, directed by Siddharth Anand, arrives on December 24, 2026.
• Atlee: Raaka, a sci-fi mega-project starring Allu Arjun with Deepika Padukone as the female lead.

A Jawan sequel is not confirmed. But after a Rs 1,160 crore worldwide gross and a National Award, another SRK-Atlee collaboration would be an event film from the moment it is announced.

For now, fans have two release dates to circle: SRK returns this Christmas in King, and Atlee’s Raaka is taking shape.
