Popular actor Chetan Sharma, known for his roles in Sacred Games Season 2, Pagglait, Delhi Crime, and more, recently shared his experience working in Ajay Devgn‘s latest film, Bholaa. Sharma spoke about the challenges of performing action scenes for his role and the invaluable lessons he learned from working with seasoned actors like Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobriyal, Vineet Kumar, and Tabu.
In awe of Ajay Devgn’s passion for filmmaking and his clarity of vision, Chetan Sharma revealed that Devgn would often discuss scenes with his actors and design shots accordingly, using minimal instructions to bring out the best performances. Sharma plays a student in Bholaa, who gets caught by the police for causing trouble with his friends but eventually has to join them in their fight against the antagonists.
Describing the challenges of performing action scenes for his character, Sharma mentioned that he had never done scenes with so much action before and had to learn how to perform while being cabled for safety. The action sequences also required him to work on his fitness and choreography, as well as perfect the dialect and characterization of his role with the help of a dialect coach and actor Shridhar Dubey.
Sharma also spoke highly of his co-stars in Bholaa. He praised Sanjay Mishra for his delightful presence on set and mentioned that Deepak Dobriyal’s kindness and sweetness off-set were in stark contrast to his intense performance as Ashu in the film. Sharma also shared his admiration for Vineet Kumar, a veteran actor and storyteller, who had interesting anecdotes to share on set. Although he had limited scenes with Tabu, Sharma recalled being awe-struck when introduced to her by Ajay Devgn, unable to find the words to express his admiration.

He realized the importance of understanding the camera, shot design, and scene construction, and how it can immensely benefit an actor’s performance.
