In a shocking turn of events, Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel surrendered herself in the Ranchi Civil Court in connection with a cheque bounce case. The talented actress is accused of cheating film producer-businessman Ajay Kumar Singh of a staggering Rs 3 crore for an unfinished film project. The allegations state that Ameesha borrowed Rs 2.5 crore from Ajay under the pretext of producing a film titled “Desi Magic,” but failed to deliver on her commitments and neglected to return the borrowed money.
The incident in question dates back to 2018 when Ameesha Patel visited Ranchi for an event at Harmu Ground. It was during this visit that she met Ajay Kumar Singh, convincing him to invest Rs 2.5 crore in her film project. However, Ajay claims that both Ameesha and her business partner, Krunal Goomer, failed to complete the shooting of the film as promised. Additionally, despite assurances to repay the borrowed amount along with an interest of Rs 50 lakh, they allegedly never fulfilled their obligations.
To make matters worse, the situation escalated when Ameesha handed over two cheques, one worth Rs 2.5 crore and another for Rs 50 lakh, to Ajay Kumar Singh in October 2018. Unfortunately, both cheques bounced, leaving Ajay with no choice but to take legal action against the actress.
Accusing Ameesha Patel of cheating and money laundering, Ajay Kumar Singh approached the court to seek justice. As a result, a warrant was issued against Ameesha on April 6, leading to her surrender in the Ranchi Civil Court on Saturday. Following the surrender, Ameesha was granted conditional bail but has been instructed to appear physically before the court on June 21 to further address the cheque bounce case.
