Amitabh Bachchan, one of Bollywood’s most legendary actors, recently took to social media to pay tribute to Satyajit Ray on what would have been the filmmaker’s 102nd birthday. The actor shared a rare black and white photograph on Instagram, in which he can be seen reading from a paper while Satyajit Ray watches on intently. In the caption, Bachchan fondly remembers the filmmaker and refers to him as “MANEK Da”. The two worked together on a film, which was a privilege for Bachchan.
This isn’t the first time Amitabh Bachchan has paid tribute to a legendary artist on their birth anniversary. Last week, he also shared a post dedicated to late actress Zohra Sehgal. Bachchan reminisced about seeing her perform on stage when he was in school and how he never imagined he would get to work with her in films.
Apart from his tribute posts, Bachchan also gave a glimpse into his life and the love he receives from his fans. He shared a photo of himself waving at a sea of fans waiting outside his house in Mumbai, a scene that has been repeated every Sunday since 1982. In the caption, he expressed his gratitude and love for his fans who have given him a reason to continue.
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen next in Nag Ashwin’s Project K alongside Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. Fans are eagerly waiting to see this powerhouse trio on the big screen.
