Get ready for an intense box office clash as Warner Bros, known for its horror flicks, is set to release The Nun II in the same week as Shah Rukh Khan‘s highly anticipated film, Jawan. After the massive success of Pathaan earlier this year, fans have been eagerly awaiting Khan’s next release. Initially slated for a June 2 premiere, Jawan will now hit theaters on September 7, but it won’t enjoy a solo run.
Warner Bros made the announcement on July 6, revealing that The Nun II will simultaneously release in India on September 8, not only in its original English version but also in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. This isn’t the first time the Hollywood studio has clashed with a Khan-starrer this year. In April, their horror film Evil Dead Rise went head-to-head with Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, managing to secure sufficient screens and amassing a whopping Rs. 36.50 crores.
The Nun II, belonging to the successful The Conjuring Universe franchise, holds great potential in India, given the previous installment’s impressive box office collections of Rs. 46.46 crores. Despite the clash with Jawan, trade experts believe The Nun II will secure a reasonable screen count and enjoy an unhindered run until Salaar arrives on September 28. With positive word of mouth, this horror flick has the potential to become a massive box office success. Mark your calendars for this thrilling battle at the box office!
