The highly-anticipated film Project K, starring the dynamic duo of Deepika Padukone and Prabhas, has been garnering attention from fans worldwide. However, there seems to be a small bump in the road as Deepika Padukone will reportedly miss the film’s launch at the prestigious San Diego Comic-Con event. According to reports, the Hollywood actors’ strike, which commenced in May 2023 and is led by the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the Writers Guild of America (WGA), is the reason for Deepika’s absence.
As a member of SAG-AFTRA, Deepika has been instructed to refrain from attending promotional events or commencing any new projects during the strike. This means she won’t be able to attend the San Diego Comic-Con event for Project K. The strike, now in its third month, has caused significant disruptions in the film industry, leading to delays and cancellations of several projects.
Project K, helmed by director Nag Ashwin, boasts an impressive star cast, including the legendary Kamal Haasan as the lead antagonist, alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. Despite Deepika’s inability to attend the launch, the excitement surrounding the film remains undiminished, and fans eagerly await further updates on this ambitious cinematic venture.
