Producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s highly anticipated project, ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, faces a significant roadblock as the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) takes action. With over 500,000 members, FWICE has issued a non-cooperation order against Nadiadwala, citing alleged non-payment of dues to director Anees Bazmee and other crew members who worked on Nadiadwala’s previous venture, ‘Welcome Back’, back in 2015.
In a letter dated September 9, 2023, the FWICE president outlined the outstanding payments, with director Anees Bazmee reportedly owed Rs 2 crores. Anees had previously revealed that out of the agreed Rs 11.27 crores for his directorial role, he received only Rs 6.64 crores, voluntarily forgoing a significant amount. The unresolved payment issue has now cast a shadow over Nadiadwala’s ambitious project, ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, which boasts a star-studded ensemble of 24 actors. Clearing these dues seems imperative before any further progress can be made on this much-anticipated venture.
