Gadar 2 Censor Details Revealed: Controversial Cuts and Changes Lead to U/A Certification

The much-anticipated clash of the year is set to unfold as “Gadar 2” gears up to face off against “OMG Oh My God 2.” The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) recently completed the censor process for “Gadar 2,” granting it a U/A certificate. However, the film’s makers had to make 10 cuts to comply with the certification guidelines.

Among the significant changes made, the scene depicting rioters chanting ‘Har Har Mahadev’ was removed, and the ‘Shiv Tandav’ shlokas were replaced with the song line ‘Akhand hai…who sang hai’. Additionally, the offensive word ‘Bastard’ was substituted with ‘Idiot’, and the designation of Defence Minister was rectified to ‘Raksha Mantri’ as per CBFC’s directive.

Further modifications were made to ensure sensitivity and respect for religious sentiments. The word ‘Tirange’ was replaced with ‘Jhande,’ and the ‘Har Jhande Ko…’ dialogue was suitably altered. In the thumri song ‘Bata De Sakhi,’ a particular line was replaced by ‘Bata De Piya Kahaan Bitaayi Shaam.’

In response to references made about the 1971 India-Pakistan war, the makers were asked to submit documentary evidence to authenticate the stats and references. Additionally, translations for the shlokas and mantras used in the film were also submitted for clarity and understanding.

Following these alterations, the CBFC granted “Gadar 2” its U/A certification. The film boasts a runtime of 170 minutes, translating to 2 hours and 50 minutes of gripping entertainment for the audience.

Starring the talented trio of Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma, “Gadar 2” is all set to hit the screens on August 11. As the film navigates its way through the censor process and readies for release, fans are eagerly anticipating a power-packed performance and a gripping storyline that will keep them hooked from start to finish.

Be prepared for an action-packed clash at the box office as “Gadar 2” and “OMG Oh My God 2” go head-to-head, promising a thrilling competition for Bollywood enthusiasts. As the excitement builds, mark your calendars for August 11 and get ready to witness the much-awaited spectacle unfold on the silver screen.
