The actress, who had worked in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films before tying the knot with Riteish Deshmukh, revealed that it was entirely her choice to give priority to her family at that point.
Contrary to popular belief, Genelia made it clear that Riteish’s family didn’t want her to quit films after marriage, despite his father being in politics. She added that after working for a long time, she wanted to take a break and spend more time with her family.
Riteish echoed his wife’s sentiments and stated that it was Genelia’s decision to stay away from films and when to return. He also mentioned that her comeback was delayed due to the pandemic. The couple recently starred in the Marathi film, Ved, which was directed by Riteish and turned out to be a surprise hit.
