Exciting news for moviegoers in Mumbai! The iconic Eros Cinema, known for its historical significance and charm, is all set to make a comeback in a brand new avatar. After rumors of its demolition caused an uproar, it has now been revealed that Eros Cinema will reopen as an IMAX theater with a laser screen. Alongside the IMAX experience, the cinema will also feature a few smaller screens. The renovation work is nearly complete, and if all necessary permissions are obtained, the grand reopening is expected to take place later this year.
Additionally, Mumbai will welcome another IMAX theater at the Jio World Convention Centre. This 6-screen theater, owned by PVR Inox, will include an IMAX auditorium. Located in the vicinity of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, this new theater is also scheduled to open this year. With the addition of these two IMAX screens, Mumbai will have the highest number of IMAX theaters in the country, totaling seven. It’s an exciting development for cinema enthusiasts, offering them enhanced visual and audio experiences while enjoying their favorite movies on the big screen.
