Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been in the news for the demolition of her property by the BMC in September 2020, has decided to forgo the compensation of Rs 2 crore that she had demanded earlier. In a recent conversation, the Queen actress stated that she no longer wants compensation and that she knows it’s taxpayers’ money.
Kangana had earlier claimed that the demolition was carried out illegally and had demanded compensation from the BMC. However, in the recent conversation, she stated that she had not received any compensation and had requested evaluators from the BMC to assess the damages. She further added that she did not want any compensation anymore and that the court had already ordered the BMC to pay her.
The Tanu Weds Manu actress has been vocal about her political views on social media and had claimed that the notice was politically motivated. However, she has now decided to let go of the compensation citing that she does not want to use taxpayers’ money.
On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut has several projects in the pipeline, including the upcoming film Emergency, which she is not only headlining but also directing.
