OMG Oh My God 2 Faces Censorship Hurdles with 20 Cuts and ‘Adults Only’ Certificate

The highly anticipated sequel, OMG Oh My God 2, starring Akshay Kumar, has hit a roadblock with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). After being referred to the Revising Committee (RC) for content-related concerns, the film has now faced a recommendation of 20 cuts, both visual and audio deletions, along with an ‘Adults Only’ certification.

Bollywood Hungama has learned that the makers of OMG Oh My God 2 are apprehensive about accepting these modifications, as they believe it might compromise the essence of the film. Additionally, they are not comfortable with an ‘A’ certificate, especially since the movie touches upon the subject of sex education, which they feel should be accessible to audiences of all ages. Moreover, considering the popularity of the first installment among kids, the filmmakers are hesitant about having an adult certificate for a franchise known for being kid-friendly.

As the two parties continue to be at loggerheads, it remains uncertain whether they can reach a consensus in time for the scheduled release on August 11. Starring not only Akshay Kumar but also Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam, the sequel has generated significant anticipation, and fans are eagerly waiting to see how the censorship issue unfolds.
