The highly anticipated release of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Jawan has been a topic of discussion in the industry for quite some time now. Despite the film’s complex VFX, SRK had initially locked August 11 as the release date. However, due to certain conflicts, the date was shifted to August 25 and then finally to September 7.
According to Total Filmi, SRK had a conversation with Karan Johar and Bhushan Kumar regarding the release date of Jawan. The duo of Bhushan Kumar and Ranbir Kapoor were keen on sticking to the August 11 release date for their film, Animal, which had been promoted for the past 2 years. On the other hand, SRK believed that a delay would be better suited for the complex VFX of Jawan.
After understanding each other’s perspectives, SRK and Bhushan Kumar mutually decided to avoid a clash between the two films, as it would not be a good business proposition. Furthermore, SRK spoke to Karan Johar to ensure that there were no delays for his upcoming release, Rocky Rani Ki Kahani, which is slated to release on July 28. After confirming this, SRK picked September 7 as the release date for Jawan, as there were no major films scheduled to release until the release of Salaar.
It is evident that SRK values the institution of a single film industry and wants every film to succeed. Hence, he has chosen the best interests of the Hindi Film Industry and the other films scheduled to release in the same period by avoiding any unnecessary clashes. The fans can now look forward to the release of Jawan on September 7, and we can only hope that the film lives up to its hype.
