While midnight and early morning shows have become a post-pandemic trend in Bollywood, the highly anticipated release of Shah Rukh Khan‘s “Jawan” is taking a different approach. Despite immense demand and the recent trend of midnight screenings for blockbusters like “Sooryavanshi,” “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” and “Pathaan,” the makers of “Jawan” have chosen not to have shows before 6:00 am on its release day, September 7.
The decision stems from the film’s intriguing plot with exciting twists and special appearances by popular actors. The concern is that if “Jawan” is screened at midnight, viewers may capture crucial scenes and share them on social media before most moviegoers even have a chance to watch the film, potentially spoiling the experience for others. As a result, round-the-clock screenings are planned for “Jawan” but will commence from Friday, September 8. Some theaters have already begun booking for post-midnight shows, while others are gearing up to follow suit. In this unique move, “Jawan” aims to keep its surprises intact for audiences, building even more anticipation for its release.
