Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” Receives U/A Certification with Key Modifications by CBFC

In a significant update, Shah Rukh Khan‘s upcoming action-packed venture “Jawan” has successfully undergone the censor process, securing a U/A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). While the film generated immense anticipation, the CBFC requested seven alterations before granting the certification.

Notably, the CBFC emphasized the importance of suitable depictions by requesting reductions in suicide-related visuals and the removal of violent scenes depicting beheaded bodies. An ‘out of context’ reference to the Honourable President of India was thoughtfully modified to ‘Head Of State’, and other dialogues were equally adapted to ensure appropriateness. The film’s length, confirmed at 169 minutes, offers an engaging cinematic experience lasting 2 hours and 49 minutes.

Furthermore, ‘irrelevant references’ to the National Security Guard (NSG) were replaced with IISG, aligning the narrative with necessary adjustments without compromising the film’s essence. With these conscientious changes, “Jawan” successfully secured its U/A certification and is poised to captivate audiences when it releases on September 7, 2023.
