Mumbai, May 24, 2023: In a devastating incident, popular television actress Vaibhavi Upadhyaya, known for her role as Jasmine in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai Season 2, has tragically lost her life in a car accident. The unfortunate incident took place in Himachal Pradesh, where Vaibhavi was traveling with her fiancé.
The news of her untimely passing was shared by JD Majethia, the creator and producer of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, who took to Twitter to express his grief. He wrote, “Life is so unpredictable. A very fine actress, dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay, popularly known as Jasmine of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, passed away. She met with an accident in the north. Her family will bring her to Mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 am for the last rites. RIP Vaibhavi.”
According to reports from Total Filmi, the accident occurred when Vaibhavi and her fiancé lost control of their car at a steep turn in Himachal Pradesh. Upon receiving news of the tragic incident, her brother immediately rushed to the location.
Deven Bhojani, an actor-director, also expressed his shock and shared Vaibhavi’s photo on social media, mourning her loss. He tweeted, “Shocking! A very fine actress and a dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay, popularly known as ‘Jasmine’ of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, passed away. She met with an accident in the north a few hours back. Rest in peace Vaibhavi.”
Rupali Ganguly, another prominent actress who worked alongside Vaibhavi in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, responded to Deven Bhojani’s tweet expressing her disbelief and sorrow, stating, “This is not fair… gone too soon…” She also took to her Instagram to share her sentiments, saying, “Can’t believe this.”
Vaibhavi Upadhyaya had also appeared in the film Chhapaak, starring Deepika Padukone, and had worked on the television show Kya Qasoor Hai Amla Ka, among other notable projects.
