Mumbai, May 24, 2023: In a heartbreaking incident, Bollywood and television actor Nitesh Pandey, known for his memorable roles in films like “Om Shanti Om” and the TV show “Anupamaa,” has passed away at the age of 51. Pandey suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while shooting in Igatpuri, leading to his untimely demise. The actor, who portrayed the character of Shah Rukh Khan’s assistant in “Om Shanti Om,” left a lasting impression on audiences with his talent and on-screen presence.
According to reports, Nitesh Pandey was in Igatpuri for a shoot when his health took a sudden turn for the worse. He experienced a cardiac arrest in the early hours of May 24 at 2 am and tragically passed away almost immediately.
Producer Siddharth Nagar, who is Pandey’s brother-in-law, confirmed the devastating news and expressed the shock and grief within the family. He stated, “Yes, you have heard it right. My brother-in-law is no more, my sister Arpita Pandey is in a state of shock. Nitesh’s father has left for Igatpuri to bring back his mortal remains. They should be here by the afternoon. We have gone absolutely numb, I have not been able to even talk to Arpita after the tragedy. I am headed to Igatpuri as well; I am on the train right now. I was coming back from Delhi when I heard about this. Nitesh was much younger than me. He was a very lively person, and I don’t think he had a history of any heart ailment.”
Nitesh Pandey had made a significant impact in both the television and film industries. Apart from his notable role in “Om Shanti Om,” he had also appeared in movies such as “Dabangg” and “Khosla Ka Ghosla.” His presence on the small screen was equally cherished, with appearances in TV serials like “Manzilein Apani Apani,” “Astitva…Ek Prem Kahani,” “Saaya,” “Justajoo,” and “Durgesh Nandini.”
