Renowned producer Gnanavel Raja has secured the rights to recreate the Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer, which took the Hindi-speaking markets by storm. Gnanavel Raja expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “I have purchased the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 south remake rights. I believe it’s a nice story to be told here with a different spin. I am currently in the process of finalizing the cast and crew. I haven’t zeroed in on anyone yet.”
This reversal of fortunes highlights the significance of the original “Bhool Bhulaiyaa,” which itself was a remake of the Malayalam film “Manichitrathazhu.” Now, with “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” receiving the remake treatment, it adds a refreshing twist to the narrative.
The film, directed by Anees Bazmee, captured audiences with its winning combination of comedy, horror, and unexpected twists. With a star-studded cast including Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, and Sanjay Mishra, it amassed an impressive box office collection of Rs. 185.92 crores since its release on May 20, 2022.
