During the promotions of the 2022 film Bhediya, Varun Dhawan, co-star of Kriti Sanon, started a rumour about her being in a relationship with Telugu star Prabhas. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sanon revealed that Dhawan was bored answering the same questions repeatedly, and so he decided to spice things up by spreading a rumour about Sanon having someone in her life. However, the dating rumours went so far that Sanon had to release a statement debunking the speculation and explaining that it was all started in jest by Dhawan.
Dhawan’s statement about Sanon’s supposed relationship with Prabhas went viral after he hinted at it on the sets of Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa. Sanon had to explain to Prabhas why Dhawan said what he said, and Prabhas was rather confused and asked why Varun had said that. Kriti hastily answered that Varun is a friend and not to take it seriously.
While Sanon will next be seen in Adipurush alongside Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan, it’s clear that she wants to put the dating rumours to rest once and for all. Nonetheless, the incident has sparked much curiosity among fans about the dynamics between Sanon, Dhawan, and Prabhas on and off-screen.
