The much-anticipated biopic “Swantantrya Veer Savarkar” finds itself embroiled in a heated legal dispute. Acclaimed actor-director Randeep Hooda, under his banner Randeep Hooda Films, recently asserted that he is the sole owner of all the intellectual property rights to the film. He also sent a legal notice to producers Anand Pandit of Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Sandeep Singh of Legend Studio, claiming full ownership.
In response, the legal representatives of the producers, advocate Ravi Suryawanshi, Managing Partner of “Bar & Brief Attorneys,” fired back, declaring that M/s Legend Studios Private Limited, along with M/s Anand Pandit Motion Pictures LLP, are the exclusive joint producers and owners of the entire 100% Intellectual Property Rights and exploitation rights of the film. They expressed shock and surprise at Randeep Hooda’s claims and stated their intention to take appropriate legal action, both civil and criminal, against the actor.
The dispute escalated further when allegations arose that Randeep Hooda had taken the film’s footage without permission and failed to return it despite multiple requests. Additionally, it was reported that the producers had set specific conditions, including a stipulated budget of Rs. 20 crores, but Randeep exceeded the allocated funds.
As the legal battle unfolds, fans eagerly await the resolution of this contentious situation, hoping that the film will see the light of day soon. With emotions running high and reputations at stake, the fate of the much-anticipated biopic hangs in the balance.
