The much-anticipated action drama, Lal Salaam, starring Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth, has finally hit screens worldwide in multiple languages. Directed by Rajini’s elder daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the film unfolds against the backdrop of cricket and features young talents Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in pivotal roles.
Despite Rajini’s previous Telugu release, Jailer, ranking as the all-time third highest-grossing dubbed movie with a share of over Rs 47 crore, the buzz surrounding Lal Salaam among Telugu fans and trade circles was surprisingly lackluster. Shockingly, the first day first shows of Lal Salaam stand canceled, sending disappointment rippling through fans, owing to dismal attendance in various centers across the Telugu states. Those who had booked tickets online are already receiving refunds from ticketing platforms, leaving the fate of subsequent screenings uncertain.
In Lal Salaam, Rajini makes an extended cameo appearance, portraying the character of Moideen Bhai, a Mumbai underworld don. The film boasts a soundtrack composed by AR Rahman, and the project has been backed by the renowned Tamil production house, Lyca Productions, on a grand scale.
