Raveena Tandon and Shivarajkumar Unite for A For Anand
Raveena Tandon begins shooting for the Kannada film A For Anand with Shivarajkumar, directed by MG Srinivas and backed by Geetha Pictures.

Raveena Tandon has officially stepped into the world of A For Anand, the Kannada film that pairs her with Shivarajkumar for the very first time. Shooting reportedly began on Wednesday at Presidency University in Bengaluru, with an inaugural ceremony where the actor was felicitated by the university’s founder-chairman, Dr Nissar Ahmed.
An unlikely crossover gets rolling
The film is directed by MG Srinivas – the filmmaker Kannada audiences know as Srini – who previously joined forces with Shivarajkumar on the heist entertainer Ghost. Geetha Shivarajkumar is backing A For Anand under the Geetha Pictures banner, with Arjun Janya scoring the music. Mahendra Simha handles cinematography and Deepu S Kumar is on edit.
That combination matters. Rather than a pan-India spectacle built on a Bollywood cameo, this looks like a rooted Kannada project that happens to have a Hindi-film star in a key role. For fans of both industries, that is a refreshing change from the usual crossover math.
Raveena’s Kannada credentials run deep
Kannada audiences have known Raveena for decades. She appeared in Upendra’s 1999 cult classic Upendra, long before southern crossovers became a national talking point, and she later made an impression in Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2.
Shivarajkumar brings his own momentum to the set. The Kannada veteran has been juggling multiple projects – Bail recently hit screens, and Original Monster is already generating curiosity. A reunion with Srinivas so soon after Ghost suggests a working equation that clicked.
Before A For Anand, she was everywhere
The actor has been moving across languages. She was recently seen in Vishwanath And Sons, the Tamil-Telugu bilingual starring Suriya and Mamitha Baiju that released in August 2026. Before that, she joined the huge ensemble of Welcome To The Jungle, alongside Akshay Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez and more.
- First on-screen pairing of Raveena Tandon and Shivarajkumar
- Directed by MG Srinivas, who earlier made Ghost with Shivarajkumar
- Produced by Geetha Pictures, with music by Arjun Janya
There is no release window yet, but the Bengaluru schedule is now officially underway. The absence of a date is worth noting – the focus right now is clearly on getting the shoot right. For Raveena fans, the wait is already easy: Vishwanath And Sons and Welcome To The Jungle are out there, while Kannada fans can revisit Ghost to see the Srinivas-Shivarajkumar style in action.
