Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has collected an estimated ₹424.25 crore worldwide in four days, with a Sunday jump and 10 million tickets sold.

Jailer 2 earns ₹424.25 crore worldwide in four days

The sequel to Rajinikanth’s blockbuster is turning out to be a box-office event. Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has put up an estimated ₹424.25 crore worldwide in four days, according to Sacnilk’s collection estimates, taking it close to the ₹450 crore milestone and putting ₹500 crore in the same conversation.

Four days, one clear box-office pattern

Released worldwide on October 15, Jailer 2 opened with ₹59.70 crore net in India. There was a Friday dip to ₹37.10 crore, but the film recovered quickly. Saturday brought ₹47.25 crore net, and Sunday jumped to ₹55.85 crore net, an increase of around 18.2% over Saturday.

  • Day 1, October 15: ₹59.70 crore net in India
  • Day 2, October 16: ₹37.10 crore net
  • Day 3, October 17: ₹47.25 crore net
  • Day 4, October 18: ₹55.85 crore net

That takes the film’s India net total to ₹199.90 crore. Its domestic gross stands at ₹234.25 crore, while overseas contributes an estimated ₹190 crore, making up the worldwide figure of ₹424.25 crore.

Why this is bigger than a one-day spike

The Sunday turnaround matters because it suggests audiences are discovering the film after the opening rush, not simply front-loading. Ticket sales back that up: Jailer 2 has crossed 10 million tickets on BookMyShow and District combined within four days. BookMyShow accounts for more than 6.19 million of those, while District has recorded over 4.5 million.

It puts Jailer 2 among the biggest Tamil theatrical releases of 2026. Rajinikanth returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, with Anirudh Ravichander scoring the music. The ensemble includes Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vijay Sethupathi, Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

The road to ₹500 crore

With ₹424.25 crore already banked, the next milestone is clear: ₹450 crore, then the larger ₹500 crore club. The film’s overseas haul is doing a lot of the heavy lifting, and the real test will be how the weekday numbers hold after the opening weekend.

For Hindi and Tamil film fans tracking the box office, the Jailer 2 story is a reminder of how a strong Saturday-Sunday bounce can change a film’s trajectory. It is also a sign that the southern film market continues to deliver some of India’s biggest theatrical numbers.

Director Nelson Dilipkumar has responded to the run with a brief, joyful note. As he put it, “Theatres are going bonkers! Thalaivar magic hits different.” He also thanked audiences for the response and said it felt special to see viewers celebrating Jailer 2.
