Govinda says Sunita is being manipulated amid cheating row

Govinda has ended his silence over wife Sunita Ahuja’s infidelity allegations, but not with a point-by-point denial. In an interview with ABP Live, the Bollywood star said he believes someone is manipulating Sunita and shaping the statements now being made about their marriage.

A quiet response, but a firm allegation

The actor said he had sensed this chapter coming seven to eight years ago and would rather stay silent than say anything that could embarrass his wife. He described the public commentary as a passing phase and said he does not object to how people, especially women, are reacting.

“I don’t want to cast any doubt on my behaviour, unless someone forces me to,” he told the channel, explaining why he has avoided a public rebuttal.

Govinda went further, suggesting that those close to a person can be influenced. “There comes a time in every household that your close ones can’t see beyond you. They get manipulated and influenced,” he said.

Crediting Sunita as his lucky charm

Despite the rupture, Govinda spoke warmly about Sunita’s role in his life. He credited his mother’s blessings and his wife’s luck for whatever name and respect he has earned, adding simply, “She’s been lucky for me.”

He also said he intends to give her space to express herself rather than challenge her publicly, and that he will continue to sidestep her claims. “I’ll keep dodging her claims till those who are influencing her get dizzy,” he said.

The exchange matters because it moves the story from a one-sided set of allegations to a public strategy from one of Hindi cinema’s most familiar comic stars. Govinda is choosing restraint and gratitude as his counter-move, while pointing at unnamed outsiders.
