Rashmika Mandanna tells trolls: He was there, you weren't

Rashmika Mandanna has finally responded to the viral trolling that followed her Koffee With Karan season 9 confession about asking Vijay Deverakonda to marry her “100 times.” The clip was quickly turned into a debate about proposals and self-respect. Her new note is personal, pointed and leaves little room for misinterpretation.

The ‘100 times’ story, reframed

In the note, Rashmika said viewers got stuck on the wrong detail. The conversation was never a literal proposal countdown. Vijay’s “ask me 100 times” line, she explained, was about giving the relationship time and space—about both of them being sure they wanted the same future.

Her version is about matching different styles, not measuring eagerness. She described herself as “all heart” and Vijay as “the thinker,” and said the combination is part of what works.

“We chose us,” Rashmika wrote.

What she says the critics missed

The actor addressed the “sweet girls” making reels and offering relationship advice in the name of concern. Her argument is simple: those who were not present during the hard parts should not now tell her to run.

She offered a list of ordinary, private moments where Vijay has shown up.

  • A snapped bone: he was there.
  • Monthly stomach pain and hospital visits: he was there.
  • Waking in the middle of the night with anxiety: he was there.

Rashmika also spoke to Kannadiga fans who continue to bring up her former engagement to Rakshit Shetty. She said she feels “blessed” that she is still remembered after ten years, and sent love to everyone who celebrates love and joy.

Vijay’s blunt backing

Vijay Deverakonda responded with a romantic picture of the two of them, called Rashmika his best friend and wife, and said the couple is “gloriously happy.” He reserved a profane sign-off for the trolls.

The episode is a reminder that a short clip can flatten a private relationship into a talking point. Rashmika’s response tries to return the conversation to the things that do not make good reels: hospital visits, anxiety, and the reliable presence of a partner.

For fans, the timing matters. The note lands while the two are on screen together in Ranabaali, which is playing in theatres.
