Ramayana Plans a Theme Park and Museum Beyond the Film

The Vision Video on JioHotstar maps a bigger Ramayana: a theme park, a museum and immersive spaces around the two-part epic starring Ranbir Kapoor.

Ramayana Plans a Theme Park and Museum Beyond the Film

Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana is now being pitched as more than a two-film event; it is a cultural universe with real-world destinations. A freshly released Vision Video on JioHotstar walks audiences through the team’s thinking, and the headline idea is impossible to miss: the story will not end when the credits roll.

What the Vision Video actually shows

The video stays away from plot reveals. Instead, it is a statement of intent, using story, technology and hands-on experiences to take the epic to audiences across generations and geographies. In practice, that means a planned theme park and a museum, alongside the films themselves.

The teaser caption puts it plainly: “A timeless epic. A limitless vision.” It frames the project as one that reimagines a legendary world for generations, from India for a larger global audience.

What the makers have not shared, so far, are practical details: no locations and no timelines for the theme park or museum. That matters because ambition at this scale lives or dies on execution.

Why a theme park matters for Bollywood

This is the kind of move Hindi cinema has talked about more than it has delivered. A mythological epic is particularly suited to it. The Ramayana already exists in homes, festivals and performances across India; converting that familiarity into physical experiences could give younger audiences a new way into the characters and values. It also gives the film a life well beyond its theatrical window.

Think of it as an Indian epic finally getting the theme-park treatment that global studios have used for decades — but rooted in a story this audience already knows by heart.

The film and release plan

The project has the scale to support those dreams. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, it stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Prime Focus Studios produces, with visual-effects heavyweight DNEG and Monster Mind Creations as associates.

Beyond the film itself, the release plan is deliberately wide:

  • Part 1: worldwide cinemas on November 5, 2026
  • Part 2: Diwali 2027
  • Languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, with IMAX among the premium formats
  • Streaming: JioHotstar will offer it as a dedicated on-demand purchase after the theatrical window
  • Distribution: Sony Pictures outside India; Dharma Productions for the Hindi-speaking market

What to do with this news

For fans, the Vision Video on JioHotstar is the quickest way to see the team’s full ambition. Keep expectations grounded: the theme park and museum are still a promise, not a construction update. The real test will be whether the November film lives up to the scale being promised around it.
