Netaji kin wants Prabhas’ Fauzi teaser pulled and fixed
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grandnephew has asked the Fauzi team to pull the teaser, correct the historical portrayal and release a new version.

Prabhas’ upcoming period drama Fauzi has run into early trouble. A teaser released on 23 October to mark the star’s 47th birthday is now at the centre of a demand from the family of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, who say the footage risks distorting history and should be withdrawn, corrected and released again.
What the teaser shows
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the teaser is titled File No 25. It opens in Berlin in 1942 with an imagined conversation between Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Adolf Hitler about British rule in India. It then introduces Prabhas as a rebel and superspy fighting the British Empire.
The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series Films, with Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and Bhushan Kumar as producers. Its theatrical release is set for 19 March 2027.
What Netaji’s family is saying
The first public nudge came from socio-political leader Suparno Satpathy, who praised the teaser as “goosebumps” but cautioned that blending fiction with history is not a good idea. Chandra Kumar Bose, Netaji’s grandnephew, reposted the remark and went further.
“Mixing fiction with history is a crime,” Bose wrote on X. He asked Hanu Raghavapudi, the team behind Fauzi and Mythri Movie Makers to pull the teaser, put out a new one and make sure history is not distorted.
He also wrote that the teaser “ought to be pulled down, corrected and released again,” while extending his best wishes to Prabhas and the team if the concern is resolved.
Why this matters for fans
This is the familiar tension between dramatic licence and public memory. Netaji is not a peripheral historical name; he remains an emotional figure for millions of Indian viewers. A teaser that places him in a fictional conversation with Hitler invites attention, but it also invites scrutiny from those who feel the icon’s image should be handled with care.
The release date is still far away, which works in the film’s favour. If the team chooses to address the concern, there is enough time to revisit the teaser and the film’s treatment before March 2027.
- Film: Fauzi, teaser titled File No 25
- Director: Hanu Raghavapudi
- Producers: Mythri Movie Makers; T-Series Films presenting
- Release date: 19 March 2027
- Objection: The imagined Netaji-Hitler scene is the flashpoint
What happens next
For the team, the family’s ask is specific: pull the teaser, correct the portrayal and share a revised version. Until there is an official response, fans should treat the circulating teaser as the version now in dispute rather than the film’s final word.
