Jailer 2 Day 13: Worldwide Gross Hits Rs 744 Cr

Jailer 2 crosses Rs 744 crore worldwide, but day 13 slows to Rs 7.50 crore net in India. The Tamil version leads while Kannada shows the best occupancy.

Jailer 2 Hits Rs 744 Crore Worldwide on Day 13

Rajinikanth and Hrithik Roshan’s Jailer 2 has crossed the Rs 744 crore mark at the worldwide box office, but its 13th day in theatres showed the expected weekday slowdown. The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed actioner collected Rs 7.50 crore net in India on Tuesday, October 27, according to Sacnilk, a 20.6% dip from Monday’s Rs 9.45 crore.

Where the numbers stand after day 13

The film’s cumulative India net now stands at Rs 415.65 crore. Domestic gross is Rs 486.50 crore, while overseas gross has reached Rs 257.50 crore, including Rs 2 crore from overseas markets on Tuesday. That takes the worldwide gross to Rs 744 crore.

The Tuesday total is well below the opening day’s Rs 59.70 crore, which remains the biggest single-day number of the run. Overall occupancy slipped to 18.3%, with an estimated 609,401 tickets sold on the day. The total footfall so far is 27,748,586.

Second week: from weekend high to weekday dip

The second-week pattern shows a familiar theatrical rhythm. After a first-week India net of Rs 334.35 crore, the film began its second week with Rs 14.50 crore on Friday, climbed to Rs 24.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 25.70 crore on Sunday, then settled at Rs 9.45 crore on Monday and Rs 7.50 crore on Tuesday.

That decline is not unusual for a star-led actioner after the second weekend, but it signals that weekday holds will be the test from here. Tamil Nadu is still leading the charge, with Rs 3.25 crore in state-wise gross, or 37.6% of the reported regional total of Rs 8.65 crore.

Language-wise, Tamil is the engine

  • Tamil: Rs 4.15 crore from 4,620 shows; occupancy 21.2%
  • Telugu: Rs 1.65 crore from 1,773 shows; occupancy 20.2%
  • Hindi: Rs 1.45 crore from 4,060 shows; occupancy 14.0%
  • Kannada: Rs 25 lakh from 211 shows; occupancy 22.0%

The Tamil version made the largest contribution to domestic earnings, while Kannada recorded the highest occupancy among the four language versions. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together added Rs 1.50 crore, Karnataka Rs 1.40 crore, and Kerala and the rest of India Rs 1 crore and Rs 1.50 crore respectively.

What fans should watch next

If you are booking tickets, the night shows are where the energy is. The Tamil version touched 27.00% occupancy at night, and the Hindi version touched 27.08%, even though its overall occupancy was a soft 14.0%. The Tamil overall occupancy was 21.73%, with the evening and night shows the strongest slots.

For fans tracking the run, the number to watch is whether the Tamil version holds above 20% occupancy through the remaining weekdays, and whether the Hindi belt picks up in evening and night screenings. The cast includes Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan, Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff, Shivarajkumar and Vijay Sethupathi alongside the leads.
