Katrina Kaif: Vicky is fully present after 18-hour days
Katrina Kaif opens up about Vicky Kaushal's hands-on fatherhood, being 100% present after long workdays, and her rejection of postpartum 'bounce back' pressure.

Katrina Kaif has opened up about life with Vicky Kaushal and their son Vihaan, and the interview is a gentle reminder that the glossiest Bollywood home still runs on presence, patience and boundaries.
The fatherhood superpower
Speaking to Vogue India, Katrina described Vicky as an incredible husband with strong family values, a patient ear and the wisdom to give her space to be herself. She joked that he is ‘wise in practice’ while she is ‘wise in theory.’
What stood out most is how he walks back into family life after long hours on set. ‘He has this incredible superpower to be 100 per cent present in the moment with Vihaan and me, even when he is tired and has been working 14, 16 or 18 hours a day,’ she said.
Date nights on pause, not cancelled
Katrina admitted that romantic dinners and movie nights have taken a backseat for now. But Vicky keeps reassuring her that everything will find its own time again. For fans who romanticise celebrity marriages, that is a useful reality check: parenting is an adjustment, not a loss.
‘Bounce back? From where?’
The actor pushed back on the pressure many new mothers feel to return quickly to their pre-pregnancy bodies. She said motherhood was a deep desire and a step forward, not something to move backwards from. Seeing Vihaan’s face in those first days, she said, made her feel that four years of a journey together had led to this.
Her comments land weeks after she was trolled over her appearance at the Ambani family’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai in September. While plenty of fans praised the couple, others directed comments at her post-pregnancy weight.
What she wants you to take away
At a recent event in London, Katrina spoke about the wider problem of letting social media narratives shape personal decisions. Her point was simple: if you try to please every critic, you lose the ability to choose for yourself.
- Don’t let online opinions set your self-worth.
- Trying to cater to every critic limits your own choices.
- If she let every comment dictate her actions, she said, she would be ‘paralysed with fear.’
- She plans to reach her fitness goals at her own pace.
Katrina and Vicky married in 2021, welcomed Vihaan in 2025, and have chosen to keep him away from the public eye. For Bollywood fans, this interview is less about a picture-perfect reveal and more about two people protecting their new normal.
