DMRC will run Delhi Metro till midnight on October 30 for Diljit Dosanjh's JLN Stadium concert, with extra trips for 70,000 fans.

Diljit's Delhi Concert: Metro Till Midnight for 70,000 Fans

Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour 2026 stop at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30 is shaping up to be one of Delhi’s biggest concert nights of the year, and the city’s transport system is planning for it like a public event, not just a show. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has confirmed that train services will run till midnight on Friday so roughly 70,000 fans can get in and out without relying on private vehicles.

In a statement issued on Thursday, DMRC said the extended hours will apply to all Metro lines except the Airport Express Line and Rapid Metro Gurugram. Additional train trips will run across the network, and standby trains will be kept ready in case the crowd surge after the event is bigger than expected.

What Delhi Metro has planned

This is not simply about a later last train. DMRC has built the evening around what happens when the lights come up and everyone leaves at once.

  • Trains will run until 12 midnight on all lines except the Airport Express Line and Rapid Metro Gurugram.
  • Extra train trips and standby rakes will be available for the post-concert rush.
  • QR ticket purchase on the Delhi Metro Sarthi app will stay open for an extra hour.
  • Additional staff, customer service personnel and Customer Facilitation Agents will be deployed at JLN Stadium Metro Station and key interchange stations.
  • Extra security personnel, Door Frame Metal Detectors and enhanced screening will be in place at the stadium station.

The nearest Metro stop for the venue is JLN Stadium on the Violet Line, between Kashmere Gate and Raja Nahar Singh. DMRC is actively encouraging spectators to take the train for a convenient, safe and environmentally friendly journey.

Why public transport is the exit plan

Earlier, Delhi Traffic Police laid out vehicular diversions and asked commuters to use public transport, particularly the Metro. Traffic restrictions and diversions may be in place from 1:00 PM to 12:00 midnight around JLN Stadium on October 30.

That makes the midnight extension more than a convenience—it is the main dispersal plan for a crowd of about 70,000. Because private vehicles around the stadium will face diversions for much of the day, the Violet Line becomes the most dependable route for many fans. The exclusions matter too: riders coming via the Airport Express Line or the Gurugram Rapid Metro will need to plan around those corridors not being extended.

What to do if you are attending

If you are heading to the Diljit Dosanjh concert, give the return journey the same attention as the entry. Arrive with time for extra security screening, keep the Delhi Metro Sarthi app ready for a late QR ticket purchase, and avoid the roads around the stadium where diversions will be active from the afternoon onward.

The show itself is the draw, but the quieter story for fans is that Delhi’s public transport machinery is treating the concert as a full-scale city event—right down to the platform queues at midnight.
