Varam Episodes 3-4 Review: JioHotstar Series Slips to 2.75/5
Varam's new JioHotstar episodes earn a 2.75/5 from 123telugu, with a strong lead performance and a slowing middle. Here's what works and what doesn't.

Varam has returned to JioHotstar with two more episodes, and the early promise of this Telugu web series is starting to wobble. The latest chapters have earned a 2.75/5 rating from 123telugu.
The series, directed by Aditya Mandala and produced by Sushmita Konidela, stars Vishwadev Rachakonda as Raju and Shivathmika Rajasekhar as Satya. After a promising opening pair, episodes three and four push Raju deeper into his obsession with wealth and status.
What happens in the new chapters
Raju begins by helping a couple win Rs 1 crore on a game show, but their reaction leaves him bitter: they call the money their hard-earned reward. That rejection pushes him toward the stock market, where he makes another Rs 1 crore, and then he buys a brothel in his attempt to take Satya away for good.
It is a plot that should crackle with moral danger, and the review acknowledges the ambition-to-arrogance arc is well drawn. The trouble is the storytelling rhythm.
Where the episodes land
123telugu’s review praises Vishwadev Rachakonda’s consistency. Raju’s hunger for respect curdles into greed and condescension, and the actor makes the shift believable. The humiliation scenes and his revenge planning are handled neatly.
But the same review notes that Shivathmika Rajasekhar gets little to do in these two episodes. The emotional moments, including a conversation between Raju and his parents, had more potential than impact. The pacing also slows after the opening pair, and some of Raju’s next moves become easy to predict.
- Works: Vishwadev’s descent into greed, the supporting cast, and the variety in Raju’s money-making schemes.
- Drifts: pacing, Shivathmika’s screen time, and the emotional depth in key scenes.
- Rating: 2.75/5 from 123telugu.
Should you stream it now?
If you are already invested in Varam, the answer is a soft yes, but go in knowing these are middle chapters. They move the plot forward without delivering the same kick as the opening. If you have not started, this is not the entry point. Wait until the series completes or at least until the final-episode reviews are in.
In OTT storytelling, a mid-season dip is common, but it is also where a series proves whether it can hold an audience. Varam still has time to recover, and the lead performance is a reason to stay patient.
