Ranabaali grosses Rs 79.58 cr worldwide; next stop Rs 80 cr
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's Ranabaali is one good Saturday away from the Rs 80 cr worldwide mark after a 68.2% Day 16 jump.

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘Ranabaali’ is now close to the worldwide milestone it has been chasing since opening week. On its sixteenth day, the period action drama collected Rs 37 lakh net in India, a 68.2% jump over Friday’s Rs 22 lakh, according to Sacnilk data cited by The Times of India.
The film, set in Rayalaseema during the Madras Famine of 1876-1878, follows a horseman who leads a local resistance against British colonial rule.
Saturday bounce arrives from a low base
The jump is welcome, but it comes after a subdued Friday. The film ran in 514 shows across India on Saturday and earned an average of Rs 7,198 per show. Its Telugu 2D version recorded 19.48% overall occupancy, up from 14% on Friday.
Within the day, morning shows led with 17.91% occupancy, followed by night shows at 18.73%; evening shows were the softest at 15.91%. Those are modest figures by the standards of a film with two popular leads, and they show that the theatrical run is now working hard for every extra rupee.
Week one remains the engine
The collection stack tells the story clearly:
- Week one: Rs 45.20 cr net in India and Rs 52.55 cr gross
- Week two: Rs 12.10 cr net and Rs 14 cr gross, a 73.2% drop
- Third week, first two days: Rs 59 lakh net and Rs 67.55 lakh gross
Combining the domestic gross of Rs 67.23 cr with overseas gross of Rs 12.35 cr brings the worldwide total to Rs 79.58 cr. That puts the film right on the doorstep of the Rs 80 cr mark, but the third-week trajectory suggests it will need a stronger Sunday and a stable weekday hold to get there quickly.
The Dear Comrade comparison needs context
Deverakonda and Mandanna’s earlier outing, ‘Dear Comrade’, is the obvious reference point for industry watchers. Its first-week India net was Rs 26.20 cr, and its worldwide gross for the same period was roughly Rs 37 cr. ‘Ranabaali’ has already exceeded those figures, but the comparison is not like-for-like: one set of figures covers seven days and the other covers sixteen.
That framing matters for fans tracking box office milestones. ‘Ranabaali’ has clearly outgained its predecessor in absolute numbers, but the comparison says little about the films’ respective staying power because the two films are at different points in their theatrical life.
What comes next
The next few days will determine whether the film crosses the Rs 80 cr worldwide line. Overseas earnings have been a quiet contributor at Rs 12.35 cr, while domestic momentum has slowed from the first-week high. If the Saturday improvement continues into the weekend, the milestone could come quickly; if occupancy stays below 20%, the film may crawl past the mark instead of clearing it comfortably.
