Ramayana First Reaction Calls It a Historic Blockbuster

A first reaction from the Mumbai screening praises Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana for epic action, casting and scale ahead of its November 5 release.

Ramayana First Reaction: Epic Action, Tiwari Control

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has received a glowing first reaction after its Mumbai screening, with content creator Ashish Chanchlani calling it a “blockbuster of truly epic proportions.” The early word arrives just ahead of the film’s worldwide release on November 5, 2026.

What the first reaction says

In a post on X, Ashish shared that the film delivers “some of the absolute best action set pieces Indian cinema has ever seen.” He reserved his strongest praise for director Nitesh Tiwari, calling the adaptation “entirely his ship” and adding that Tiwari sails it “with supreme control.”

The reaction also extends to the cast. Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana all drew full marks, while Ravi Dubey “absolutely smashes it” as Laxman. Ashish added that some wholesome humorous scenes involving Dubey were a pleasant surprise.

The honest caveat

The reaction is not free of criticism. A few de-aging shots in night sequences feel slightly off, Ashish noted. De-aging is the visual-effects process used to make an actor appear younger on screen. Even so, he believes the edit is tight enough that viewers barely notice.

He also praised the risks taken by visual-effects house DNEG and producer Namit Malhotra, saying each action sequence outdoes the last. His conclusion: nothing is going to stop this film from becoming a historic blockbuster.

Why the buzz matters

Ramayana carries unusual weight for Hindi cinema. It is the first half of a two-part adaptation of a beloved epic, mounted with a large international VFX team. A warm first reaction from a popular creator can set the tone for opening day, especially for fans deciding whether to experience the film in cinemas.

  • First reaction calls Ramayana a blockbuster of epic proportions.
  • Action set pieces and Tiwari’s direction get the loudest praise.
  • Minor de-aging issues in night scenes are called easy to miss.
  • Release is set for November 5, 2026, with a clear big-screen appeal.

For a project this size, the first visible reaction matters. It frames the film as a big-screen event before the general audience gets its own turn when the film opens worldwide on November 5, 2026.

Ashish’s final advice is simple: watch Ramayana on the biggest screen possible, and do not judge it by cheap leaks or piracy. For a film built around spectacle, that guidance is as much about the experience as the story.
