Ramayana: Part One pre-sales hit Rs 96.56 crore

Ramayana: Part One has banked Rs 96.56 crore in five-day advance bookings across India, with Hindi and 3D shows leading the rush before November 5.

Ramayana: Part One's advance booking hits Rs 96.56 crore

Ramayana: Part One is already minting money. With one day left before its November 5 theatrical release, the Nitesh Tiwari epic has pulled in Rs 96.56 crore in five-day advance bookings across India, according to Sacnilk data updated at 7 am on November 4. That figure includes seats cinemas have blocked; strip those out and the paid advance total stands at Rs 77.31 crore.

A century before opening day

The pre-release haul puts the film less than Rs 3.44 crore away from the Rs 100-crore advance mark. In volume terms, 25.65 lakh tickets have been sold across 83,032 shows for the November 5 to November 9 window. Without blocked seats, the sold count is 20.57 lakh.

Opening day is doing much of the heavy lifting.

  • Opening day, November 5: Rs 39.35 crore gross
  • Day two: Rs 18.53 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 19.68 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 13.23 crore
  • Monday: Rs 5.78 crore

Hindi and premium formats lead

Language and format splits show where the film’s strength lies. On Sunday, Hindi contributed Rs 10.78 crore of the day’s advance gross, or 82 per cent, across 14,310 shows. Telugu added Rs 1.35 crore, Kannada Rs 95.06 lakh, Tamil Rs 14.20 lakh and Malayalam Rs 37,870.

The preference for 3D is just as clear. Standard 3D shows took Rs 7.14 crore on Sunday against Rs 3.82 crore for standard 2D, while premium formats, including IMAX, 4DX, Dolby Cinema, ScreenX, EPIQ and ICE, added Rs 2.22 crore from far fewer shows.

Mumbai’s love affair, and what it signals

Mumbai was the top city for Sunday bookings with Rs 1.86 crore, followed by the National Capital Region at Rs 1.34 crore and Bengaluru at Rs 1.27 crore. Maharashtra led states with Rs 2.82 crore, or 21 per cent of Sunday’s gross advance, followed by Karnataka at Rs 1.65 crore and Delhi at Rs 1.34 crore.

More than a milestone, the split explains the economics of the modern Hindi epic. The Hindi version’s dominance suggests the film is behaving like a pan-India project anchored in the Hindi heartland, while the 3D and premium-format numbers show audiences are willing to pay more for scale. That premium mix matters because it raises the average ticket price and can turn a strong opening into an even stronger weekend.

For fans, the takeaway is simple: the best 3D and premium-format seats are being snapped up early. If you are planning to experience the epic on the biggest possible screen, locking in a ticket now is safer than waiting for last-minute availability.
