Ramayana Advance Sales Hit Rs 49.75 Crore in India
Ramayana: Rise of a Legend has collected Rs 49.75 crore in India advance sales for Day 1, with worldwide pre-sales crossing Rs 150 crore.

Day one demand is already loud and clear
Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is not waiting for the first show to make its presence felt. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film has collected Rs 49.75 crore gross in India through advance bookings for its Thursday, November 5 opening. Excluding block seats, the seats held back by exhibitors, that figure is Rs 42.50 crore.
The numbers look even more concrete when you look at seats. Around 13.71 lakh tickets have been sold across 26,590 shows so far, putting the title within touching distance of the Rs 50 crore mark a day before it arrives in theatres.
- India day-one advance gross: Rs 49.75 crore (Rs 42.50 crore without block seats)
- Tickets sold: 13.71 lakh across 26,590 shows
- Hindi version: Rs 37.41 crore from 21,535 shows
- All seven days on sale: Rs 127.03 crore advance gross
The Hindi belt is leading the charge
The Hindi version is doing much of the heavy lifting, accounting for roughly 75 per cent of the opening-day advance at Rs 37.41 crore from 21,535 shows. Within that, the National Capital Region is the strongest city market with Rs 5.46 crore, followed by Mumbai at Rs 4.50 crore and Bengaluru at Rs 2.87 crore.
A worldwide pre-sales total worth noticing
Overseas, advance sales are reportedly around US$5.6 million, which pushes combined worldwide pre-sales past Rs 150 crore gross. Across all seven days currently on sale, the film has accumulated Rs 127.03 crore gross in India alone, and opening day accounts for about 39 per cent of that total.
Trade expectations are correspondingly high. Industry estimates suggest the film could open in the range of Rs 75 crore to Rs 100 crore across languages on its first day. If it connects with audiences, projections for lifetime collections run from Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 3,000 crore.
South India is the real test
Not every market is a foregone conclusion. In the south, the film will face competition from Suriya’s Scene and Nayanthara’s Mookuthi Amman 2. Chennai-based trade expert Ramesh Bala notes that the buzz around Ramayana is particularly strong in Karnataka because of Yash’s popularity, and he expects Sai Pallavi’s presence to help in other southern markets.
The adaptation, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as Ravana. It brings the ancient epic to the screen on a reported budget of Rs 4,000 crore, which makes the opening-day advance only the first step in a very long box-office journey.
What the advance booking can and cannot promise
Advance sales are a measure of intent, not a verdict. They capture the first wave of fans who would book anyway; the bigger question is whether the film expands beyond that base. The southern markets will be a key indicator, because local titles are already competing for screens and attention.
Still, for a film whose reported budget is Rs 4,000 crore, a Rs 50 crore India advance before release day is the kind of start event films are built for. The real number to watch now is whether the opening day crosses the Rs 100 crore mark, and how strongly the film holds through the weekend.
