Kartik-Sreeleela musical lands new date: April 30, 2027

The untitled romantic musical that brings Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela together for the first time now has a destination: April 30, 2027. Producer T-Series confirmed the new date after the project was first expected in 2025 and then in 2026.

The date kept moving

The announcement came with a new still of the lead pair in a misty tea-plantation setting. Kartik is seen in a red, pink and white striped sweater and light blue jeans, while Sreeleela wears a light pink dress with a ponytail. In a social media note, T-Series said that “a new story which will stay in your heart is ready to unfold on the big screen.”

The timeline is now:

• First expected in 2025
• Then shifted to 2026
• Now announced for April 30, 2027

For a musical, that runway matters: it gives the team time to build the soundtrack story, which is often the first reason audiences commit to a big romantic film.

Why the pairing matters

Kartik is an established Hindi cinema star, and Sreeleela is making her debut as a Hindi film leading lady. That contrast makes the pairing one of the film’s biggest talking points. Her presence could also widen the film beyond the usual Hindi audience, especially with Pawan Kalyan’s “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” as her most recent credit.

Last February, Kartik had teased the musical with a new look and a guitar performance of “Tu Meri Zindagi Hai”; the clip also showed the couple’s intense romance, from bike rides to a cosy bonfire.

For Sreeleela, the film carries extra weight. She has called Basu “unreal” and said the project means a lot to her. She also praised his ability to draw out natural performances and described his filmmaking as “deeply layered.”

Sreeleela was last seen in Pawan Kalyan’s “Ustaad Bhagat Singh,” and her next release is “Om Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood.”
