Katrina Kaif shuts down postpartum body-shaming in Vogue
Katrina Kaif talks motherhood, fitness and trolls in a new Vogue interview, refusing a postpartum 'bounce back' deadline.

Katrina Kaif has a simple message for anyone policing new mothers’ bodies: recovery is not a race, and the finish line is not chosen by strangers.
In a new conversation with Vogue, the actor opened up about motherhood after welcoming son Vihaan with Vicky Kaushal on November 7, 2025. She was trolled in September 2026 at the Ambani family’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, less than a year after giving birth. Her response to the pressure was pointed: “Bounce back? From where?”
No deadline on her own body
Katrina says she knows exactly where her body feels most energetic, but she is not setting a date to get there. “I will reach there at my own pace,” she added.
That matters because the “bounce back” narrative is everywhere in Bollywood. New mothers are photographed at events within months and measured against their pre-pregnancy bodies, as if recovery were a public performance rather than a private, medical and emotional process. Katrina’s pushback reframes the conversation around energy, health and personal timing.
What she is choosing right now
- Family first: bedtimes with Vihaan come before social media and film commitments.
- Fitness on her terms: health and energy, not a crash deadline.
- No rushed film return: she will wait for a role that stretches her, ideally a villain.
Vicky as co-parent, not just cheerleader
Katrina also spoke warmly about Vicky Kaushal, describing him as wise beyond his years with strong family values and integrity. She joked that she is wise in theory while he is wise in practice. Even after long work hours, she said, he stays fully present for her and Vihaan. Date nights and movie outings have paused, but he keeps reassuring her that those moments will come back.
Why this matters beyond one interview
When a star as visible as Katrina declines to perform a rapid transformation, it shifts what fans treat as normal. The pressure on famous new mothers has a way of trickling down: ordinary women are asked the same “bounce back” question by relatives, colleagues and social feeds. Her answer names the flaw in the question itself.
For Hindi film fans, the real bonus is the comeback clue. Katrina has no immediate film plans, but she is drawn to a villain. That is a role we would love to see when she is ready, on her own terms.
