Yami Gautam Dhar’s Nayyi Navelli began its theatrical run on Friday, October 16, 2026, with a modest but steady first day. As per early trade estimates from Sacnilk, the supernatural comedy collected Rs 4.58 crore in worldwide gross, including Rs 3.25 crore net in India.
That figure is the opening-day headline. The detailed split puts the domestic gross at Rs 3.83 crore and overseas collections at Rs 75 lakh.
The day built towards the night
The film played 6,281 shows and drew 155,011 footfalls across India. Overall occupancy for the Hindi 2D version stood at 15.08 per cent, but the real story was in the shape of the day.

- Afternoon shows: 14.15%
- Evening shows: 15.08%
- Night shows: 22.08%
That upward curve is encouraging for a film that leans on family audiences and supernatural comedy. Theatres filled as the day progressed, with night screens drawing the biggest crowd.
A supernatural hook with a Meerut setting
Directed by Balaji Mohan and written by Himanshu Sharma, Nayyi Navelli stars Yami Gautam Dhar as a woman welcomed into a Meerut family after marriage. Trouble begins when her brother-in-law suspects she may be a witch, and escalates when her husband transforms into a monster.
The script ties the chaos to the Kaal Sheel, a mysterious stone said to go back to the Treta Yuga, and brings together mythology and humour within the household. The supporting cast includes Addinath Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Mita Vashishth, Sonal Jha, Sunita Rajwar, Sushmita Mukherjee, Aaditya Kulshresth and Suneel Sinha.
What the first number really means
An opening day under Rs 5 crore worldwide is not an event start, so the film will depend on word of mouth and the weekend family audience. The night-show strength gives it a leg to stand on; if Saturday and Sunday follow the same upward pattern, the total can improve quickly.
As with every box office report, these are early and approximate figures. The producers’ official data and additional overseas reporting may revise the final numbers upward once all markets are finalised.
